Accelerated Neighbourhood Partnership Fund (ANPF)

Following the success of the ongoing Community Engagement project, the Home Office awarded Gosport Community Safety Partnership a further £41,700 to run a second pilot scheme.  The Accelerated Neighbourhood Partnership Fund (ANPF) aims to address levels of public confidence in the Police and their Partners through promoting and building strong partnership working.

A dedicated neighbourhood priority team comprising of key members from the partnership Community Safety Team, Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service are working closely with other partners to deliver the core objectives of the project over a ten week period.  The team have been working alongside existing partnership arrangements and Safer Neighbourhood Teams to ensure long-term sustainability.

To identify the key issues for local residents in the pilot areas the team have undertaken a consultation to ascertain needs and perceptions that will be tackled through the ANPF project.  This consultation consisted of a hand-delivered 'Your Voice Counts' survey being sent out to all residents within the Brockhurst, Christchurch and Hardway wards which were identified through the Place Survey as having lower levels of confidence with the Police and Partners.  Within these three wards 'micro-areas' were identified which were all also subject to a more detailed consultation with members of the ANPF undertaking house to house contact.

At the end of the ANPF project a further consultation will take place within the identified 'micro-areas' to gauge any effect that the initiatives may have had on local residents.  The results from both surveys will be evaluated to identify best practice for future Community Engagement work within the District.
