Weeks of Action

What is a “Week of Action”?

“Week of Action” is a term used to describe a specific period of intensive and highly co-ordinated partnership action, focused on a discrete area, such as a ward, neighbourhood or cluster of streets.

During a Week of Action local partners work intensively together.  By coordinating activity across a wide range of partners, problems can be tackled holistically, perceptions of crime can be improved along with relationships between agencies and the public.

What are the aims and objectives of Weeks of Action?

  • Reduce crime and ASB and reduce perceptions of crime
  • Increase confidence in local agencies
  • Reclaim communities, give hope and increase community engagement
  • Create enduring networks and partnerships

Over the coming months, you will be able to find more information about the ‘Weeks of Action’ programme happening in Gosport – when this happening, in which neighbourhoods and how you can get involved.  It is hoped that the programme will begin in December 2009.
