Personal Watercraft operators

With the arrival of warmer weather, personal watercraft (PWC) operators are being reminded of safe usage when in the Solent and vicinity of the shoreline.

Residents are being encouraged to report anti social use of PWC to Hampshire Constabulary: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/

  • PWC/Jetskis are allowed within half a mile of the shore but they should be licensed with QHM.
  • They are allowed to travel at 10 knots or less when with in half a mile of the shore.
  • If reporting antisocial use, to enable identifcation of the PWC operator, a description of the PWC will be needed e.g. colour and also a Datatag Number, something similar to reference AB-1234 which should be displayed on the PWC.
