The Home Office launched a consultation on its proposal to introduce a licensing system for sellers and importers of knives and other bladed articles.
This consultation follows a recent review of online knife sales which recommended a registration scheme for sellers of knives. The review suggests for buyer details to be recorded, retained and made available to law enforcement and the introduction of import licensing for knives from overseas.
This consultation is open to anyone, but is targeted at those within affected groups such as Police, CPS, community groups, businesses, and other relevant organisations.
