Meat thief Richard Featherstone has been given a conditional discharge.
Featherstone, 21, of Wavell Road, Bridgemary, Gosport, admitted stealing six gammon steaks, cheese and two packs of sausages from the Co-op in Wych Lane, Gosport, on July 24.
He was told to pay £30 compensation to the store and given a 12-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates.
Featherstone also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Fareham Magistrates’ Court. However no separate penalty was imposed.
