Hampshire Constabulary are making clear progress towards reducing crime and disorder by tackling the causes and not just the symptoms of crime.
The policing priorities this year will be focused in the following areas:
- Reducing Violent Crime
- Reducing Anti-Social Behaviour
- Tackling re-offending and preventing young people from entering the Criminal Justice System
Gosport Neighbourhood Police Teams work closely with Gosport’s Community Safety Team to increase engagement with Gosport residents. It is important that everybody has the opportunity to access services and to have their say on issues affecting their neighbourhoods. As the local policing teams have increased so have the engagement opportunities. It is hoped that this will increase Gosport residents feelings of safety and their chance to have a say on policing in their local area.
Becoming a Police Support Volunteer
Police Support Volunteers work alongside Police Officers, Special Constables, Police Community Support Officers and Police staff, providing mainly administrative support to enable the team to focus on community priorities and visible policing.
You could be carrying out tasks as varied as organising community meetings, making sure photos of the team are up to date or carrying out research into community issues and crime trends.
If you would like to find out more information about becoming a Police Support Volunteer, please visit the Hampshire Constabulary website http://www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/about-us/join-us/police-support-volunteering or call 0845 045 45 45.
