The Gosport Youth Council (GYC) is a group of around 20 young people aged between 13 and 18 years of age who want to get their views about the borough of Gosport heard.  They are an organisation run by young people for young people.

The GYC meet the first Wednesday of every month at Gosport Borough Council's officers at the Town Hall, High Street, Gosport and every other Wednesday at the Brune Park Youthy (Brune Park Youth Centre, Brune Park School, Military Road, Gosport).  All meetings start at 4.15pm and finish at 6.00pm - all young people are welcome!

The GYC hold annual elections when they vote in a Chair, Vice-Chair, Public Relations Officer, Secretary and Treasurer.  They also appoint an elected Councillor to act as their Youth Champion.  Currently, this is Councillor Chris Carter and his role is to be the link between the GYC and Gosport Borough Council.  The Youth Champion's also represents the views of all Young People in Gosport at Council Meetings and other events where young people are unable to attend and have their views heard.
